....recap of the last few months....

ok.. here's the deal.. I had almost decided I was going to quit doing my blog, partly because life just seems to keep getting busier all the time, but also because I did not know how I was going to start posting again after what my family went thru in November. My last post was Nov 14th, I did not realize that was the date until I finally got on to ck out what all my friends and family had posted. that made it a bit harder even... I'm just going to give a recap and possibly go from there.. In October we had Paige in the hospital, she started out with a funny sore on her head and then it got bigger, we went to the Dr. he started her on an iv antibiotic. two nights later we had her at McKay Dee. She ended up with MRSA which for those of you who don't know it is a resistant form of staph infection she had her whole left side swell up and close her eye and then it moved to her right side, for a while she could not see at all!! It was very scary, in the end the dr's ended up givning her 5 different IV antibiotics and 3 different oral ones, she was at McKay for 3 days and then had to go to our local ER for the next week daily for IV antibiotics.. She is better now, we just have to be careful because I have been told that once you have MRSA you have a high rate of getting it again!!!!   We had Paige home for about two weeks when our next event happened.. On November 14th 2010 my little brother died... I don't really think I can go into very many details because it is still a very close to my heart subject but I had talked to him only about an hour before he commited suicide... Never was that something I thought I would have to deal with in my life. He was a funny and fun person to be around, he loved his neices and nephews so much and was like a little kid himself. He always made sure I knew how much he loved me and made me feel like a very loved sister!! It has been a very hard thing for our family and there isn't a day that goes by I don't miss him and think about different things he did and said to me.. I love him so much... This is possibly why I haven't blogged since, because I think I knew I wanted to tell this but wasnt sure I could or should, for those of you who have ever lost a sibling maybe you will have an understanding of how hard it is.. He for sure had his problems and things he needed to deal with but I never thought his life would end so soon or sadly... I will miss him forever.. I only can hope and believe he is at peace and happy now.......                           S0the holidays came and went, the kids had a great time and got fun stuff it felt like I had a cloud over me the entire time, but made it through and I know we will remember many things good and sad from this holiday... January came and found us in the hospital with Kody after we tried to go snowmobiling, two catscans, ultrasound and two xrays later, they decided his small intestine had quit working and it affected his small bowel... two weeks later he finally started feeling better.. in between we had basketball games and a few other minor sicknesses that come with having kids in school and me working at a dental office...  but I am hoping for a better rest of 2011 for me and my family... and hoping now that I have blogged about this I can start again without many tears and memories.. I have to say I have been so thankful and very blessed with so many people friends and family for their compassion and concern through the trials we have been thru the last couple of months. I have been so amazed with the love and compassion we have recieved from so many... I refer back many times a day sometimes to the entry.. "He never said it would be easy, He only said it would be worth it" and have to believe we knew we would go thru many trials in life, and they will make us into the people we will become!!!!!

The Big Guys Birthday

I'm a bit behind on my blogging as usual, but I guess that's what happens with a busy life. Anyhoo, Kody had a birthday the end of October, he turned 43, wow, i cannot believe how fast time flies!!!! We did a little different party for him than we usually do at our house, but hey it was his birthday so he got to choose the fun! The day before his birthday he opened his gifts because he didn't want a big party, and we made his cake that day(which we ended up throwing away later because noone but he and Bryce like the kind of cake he likes so it went bad!!) Then on the day of his birthday I took him out to eat at Tepanyaki (my favorite place on the planet!!) Then we went to Sportsman's to look for a gift for him, you see.. you wouldnt think it but he has got the most picky expensive taste on the planet, and usually always wants something to do with hunting or outdoorsy so rather than get him something he wouldn't want I just took him shopping.. Chels had given him money for his birthday too so he had a bit to spend. After 2 hours looking around that store we were going to leave empty handed, because even though he has pricey taste, he hates to part with money, well i was having none of that, sooo.... he ended up getting a barrel for his gun, and of course I didnt' get a picture of it, but he has been looking at them for a few years now, so he was a happy man!!! Bryce and Kaylee stopped by for a bit on Halloween and dropped off their gift which was an awesome picture of an elk that her dad had drawn, it's pretty cool.  So all in all he had a great birthday..week.. haha!!! I am grateful everyday for him being in my life! He has got the kindest heart of anyone I know, even though sometimes he has a hard time showing it. He is an amazing dad and has always done so much for our kids. And aside from some rough times we have had in the past, that made us stronger together,  he is an amazing husband. He can always make me laugh and cheer me up if I've had a bad day!!!! I couldn't ask for someone to love me anymore than he does!!! Here's to you!!!

~Halloween 2010~

can you guess what he is???? of course it has to do with sports, he is a dead baseball player, not sure if you can see but his mask has a baseball thru it and goo ooosing out of it.. he is a funny boy! Kinda crazy that I only have one child left that dresses up for Halloween, I miss the craziness of getting all of the kids in their cosutme and makeup in time to head out to trick or treat!!! this year was different for us for sure! Wyatt got invited to go with his buddy trickortreating so I didn't even take him around, he had a great time tho. Paige went to a party with some friends. Kody and I ordered chinese and just hung out until Wyatt got home to show off all of his goods. As you can see it was pouring rain!!!!

~fall.....so far anyway~

 to start out with I thought this post would already be published, I had a friend show me how to do several posts at once and then tell the computer when to publish them, and I did it a few times and it worked, I got this one all ready friday and thought I set it to post saturday, but must have done something wrong-- anyhoo, I'm glad I got on to ck it or I wouldn't have noticed it wasn't posted yet..... so here it is a few days late haha..........                                                           
 Another fall is upon us. some times I am amazed that we survive it with all that we have going on in the fall.. School has been going great for Wyatt and Paige..oh.. not sure if I already mentioned this, but Kody also started school this fall!!! It has been interesting after so many years away, and he is still not sure he likes it, but he is learning some great stuff, it keeps him busier than ever      He started hunting in August, was home only about 9 days all of September and has been already 3 days in October!!! He had a great time down south on his hunt with his brother and one of his good friends.. He is hunting right now with Paige for the Idaho deer hunt, they are having a great time!!  We have had many fun and exciting soccer games this fall, we have soccer tues, wed, thurs and saturdays!! so that keeps us going pretty much every night. Paige has been starting on the varsity team this year and is playing amazing, she has loved it.Her team has their first playoff game this Wednesday--go BEARS!!  she also is starting drivers ed next week--ahhhh i can't believe she will be driving soon!!!!! Wyatt's team travels to Logan quite a bit for games and he loves to play. He has also already started basketball so when he isn't playing or practicing soccer he is playing and practicing with his basketball team!! We had a fun girls night with my sisterinlaw and all of her girls and Chels and Paige to celebrate Tayler's #20 birthday- which was a ton of fun, i wish we could see them more often, but they are every bit as busy as we are, and everyone else's lives are nowdays!!! I have been keeping busy working, cheering on all of the kiddos at their various sporting activities, and 2 or 3 times a week doing photosessions, which I am  loving!!  We had a great trip to Lagoon again this fall! Chels Paige Wyatt and I all enjoyed Peach Days and some yummy food, Wyatt also won a frog while there, so we have yet another pet at the Roholt house. we had a great time over Labor Day at the cabins with all the Roholt clan eating some yummy food  and 4wheelin the next day.. Wyatt has been to many Bears football games cheering on the team! Kody and I also celebrated our 23rd anniversary!! It's amazing to me how fast time goes by, we have so many great memories of our life together and things just keep getting better every year!!! I am so grateful for our relationship and to have my best friend, amazing dad and wonderful husband to share life with!!!  we also took a very cold trip to Bear Lake the beginning of  this fall, but had a great time!! I should mention, all of the animal pics are from our trip to yellowstone, we also saw 3 different black bears but not close enough to get a good pic, we saw a wolf eating a freshly killed elk, but the fish and game ppl wouldn't let anyone get very close (for obvious reasons!!) and a few coyotes and lots of deer. We had a great time!!!    Life is good, even though not always what I expect and it definetly has its ups and downs along the way. I'm just trying to enjoy as much of it and my family along the way as possible, and take time to recognize the little things everyday along with the big.... here are just a few pics of our fall so far...

this summer wyatt wanted to let his hair grow, I've never been much to let my boys have long hair, but some of the other boys on his baseball team were doing the same thing and quite honestly it wasn't something that was worth arguing over so Kody and I decided to let him go right on ahead with it. there were a quite a few times that I didn't think I could go another day without chopping it off I will admit haha. But the deal was that he had to have it cut before school started. Towards the end of summer his long hair was actually growing on me, it had gotten a little bit of a flip to it and wasn't so bad, but a deal is a deal so the night before school started( yes he drug it out as long as he possibly could before he got it cut) Chels took the shears to him, and I had to take a before and after pic just to remember how long it was..... It's amazing how much a hair "style" if you will can make someone look so different!!!

First Day of School 2010

I can't believe another summer is really gone!!! so crazy how the time flies!!! Paige starts 10th grade this year and is at the high school. She is pretty excited.. and is such a beautiful young lady!!! Wyatt starts 4th grade, and is not very excited haha.. He is not much for liking school but loves the interaction with all his buds!!!

So this year Paige decided to do a sheep. We kept it at one of our friends house due to the fact that we have no where to keep a sheep at ours. It worked out pretty well, there were six kids that did it together so they just took turns feeding the sheep, which was nice because when Paige was gone or our fam was gone we did not have to worry about her sheep getting fed. It was a great experience for her, and more work than I think she thought it would be. Wyatt had a great time helping her when it was her turn to feed it or clean the pen( I think he actually liked it more than paige did) it made fair time have a whole different meaning this year though!!! Wed night was spent setting the cages up, Thursday most of the day was spent at the sheep show, and Saturday was spent at the sheep auction. So between the sheep and all of the time we had to spend doing fair cleanup and farm bureau stands and rodeo cleanup ( for the soccer and basketball teams) we did not spend a lot of time just hanging out this year, we were sick of being there haha!!! I'm not sure if she will do a sheep again next year but it was a great experience for  her and the rest of the fam!!! He sure was a cute sheep!!

...Paige turned 15.........

WOW.... another birthday at the Roholt house!!! This time its Paige, she turned 15 on Aug 8th. My kids are all just growing up on me!!!! I cannot believe she is 15 now.. it seems the last year she has grown so much and turned into this beautiful young woman!! She has become such a big help to me, and is so responsible. Now don't get me wrong, she is CRAZY!!!! She has got such a fun and silly personality and is always making me laugh, even when I should be mad at her :) altho she is not the blonde in our house, she actually is "the Blonde",she is quite ditzy!!! And i can say this because we tease her about it all the time, and she acts a bit offended but then has to totally agree with us haha!!! We went to a color class a few months ago, and I still haven't decided if that was a good thing or not, paige learned the "color-personality" she is and now whenever she is doing something that's bugging anyone she merely responds"well that is my personality so you will just have to deal with it:" sometimes... it's funny.  She is such a fun loving girl, but she definelty has and knows her own mind. I am proud her for the confidence she has and for doing what she feels is right even if its not what her friends happen to be doing at the time!!!
I can still remember Paige as a baby, she was my biggest weighing in at 8lbs, and always was such a cute chubby little baby. And now she is almost 5'9" and alllllll legs!!!!
Paige is so kind hearted and never wants to make anyone feel sad (well except sometimes her little brother, and thats just because they like to annoy each other and fight!!!)  I am always so impressed at how deep her thoughts and feelings go, I love the grown up kind of talks we get to have with each other, and appreciate her honesty!!!! She is such an athlete and we have loved watching her improve and become such a great soccer and basketball player!! She definetly keeps us running to and fro!! She is such and amazing sweet thoughtful funny young woman and I can't wait to see her continue to grow and learn and face life head on.. Im going to share some pics of her growing up and activities for my birthday Brag moment :)

geez, after looking thru all these pics and scanning a couple of older ones when she was just a babe, made me a bit nostalgic!!! There are so many amazing and fun memories with pictures and i think i need to start taking more(if you can imagine!!) Paige always has a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone, which is why she is always surrounded by friends. Thanks for letting me be a part of your life and laugh with you and watch you grow and learn, I am so happy to be your mom and I love you to bits!!!!
